I'm moving abroad and need help with relocation
Moving to another country may sound like a dream to many people. And I'm not going to say that I don't see it as an adventure and that it will be exciting to live and live in another country with a different culture.
However, there is a lot to consider when moving to another country.
All countries have their own set of rules, laws and customs and what applies in Norway may not apply in other countries regardless of whether they are a member of the European Union or not.
Just think about getting a place to live. I'm moving to Portugal and I don't have a clue how the housing market works there.
Do you need to place a down payment and if so how big should it be? Is there a housing queue you have to be registered in or is it just private operators who rent out apartments there?
How do you get a bank account and a credit card? I don't have a clue but it's something that has to work from day one otherwise it will be difficult to shop for food and pay the bills.
Which authorities do I need to contact and what kind of documentation do I need to submit?
Should I bring parts of my household goods when I move, such as the sofa, tables, chairs and stuff like that or is it better to buy new furniture on site?
There are indeed many issues that need to be resolved when moving to another country so therefore I have contacted a company who works with relocation that is called Alfa Moving. They have a lot of experience in helping people to move to a new country and that means I don't have to put all of my energy into trying to keep track of all the things that have to work when moving to another country.
All the new impressions and experiences I will get once I have moved to Portugaland live and work there will be enough excitement for me.
